This broad expertise and involvement is at the forefront of the energy transition and meets the need for decarbonization of our electricity, heating and transport systems. Investments led by John and the team include NTR (Large Scale Onshore Wind, Solar and Battery Storage); Oxford PV (High Efficiency Solar Power Technology Innovation); Upside Energy (digital energy control); Pod Point (electric vehicle charging); and more recently Kensa Group (renewable heating for homes). John has dedicated his entire career to working in companies and projects directly related to climate change and sustainability. He has over 20 years of experience in a variety of key positions in clean technology, renewable energy, environmental infrastructure and public-private partnership investments. Since 2015, John has led direct investments in clean energy infrastructure and technologies at Legal & General, where he is also involved in the group`s initiatives to address the challenges of climate change. “I discovered RADA Business` Elite Performance program through our group HR manager and the coaching program immediately became a unique offering. In my first conversations with the RADA sales team, there was no assumption that I would complete a prescribed program, but an open dialogue with one of my tutors in which we explored my current situation and goals. John`s role is to expand Legal & General`s clean energy presence to accelerate progress towards net-zero emissions in the UK and globally by partnering with developers, operators and technology companies. He also works with colleagues from LGIM, LGR and L&G real estate and real estate companies to create carbon-free homes and contributes to the group`s overall approach to tackling climate change and sustainability. John has a passion for sustainability and has dedicated his 20-year career to working on sustainable projects and investments in water, waste recycling, renewable energy and clean technology. Prior to joining L&G, he also led a major European renewable energy fund at a leading sustainable global bank based in the Netherlands. He is an experienced non-executive director and works with our investment partners to support their growth and success. John is an independent member of the investment committee of Emmaus UK, a homeless charity serving around 1000 people across the UK. “As Chief Clean Energy Officer, and having launched, built and grown Clean Energy`s business and investment team during my early years at Legal & General, I felt I needed to become a more established member of the leadership team, both in terms of internal influence and in my role as the company`s external spokesperson on climate change and green energy issues.
